KÖPPERN, in 1898 succeeding the Hattingen based Berninghaus smelter, has been building roller presses, briquetting plants and high-pressure grinding rolls since the beginning of the 20th century. KÖPPERN counts among the leading manufacturers of plants and systems for the briquetting/compaction and comminution of:

KÖPPERN has supplied more than 800 roller presses into over 50 countries. By performing investigations in our testing facility we develop in cooperation with our customers the best suited and cost-efficient technical process. 2000 substances have hitherto been examined to determine their suitability.

KÖPPERN plants

KÖPPERN engineers and supplies plants and systems for briquetting, compaction and comminution of various substances based on their own and customer-developed processes.

Up to now, more than 80 plants have been supplied to many countries.

Including systems and plants for:

- Coal
- Ores and minerals
- Mixed fertilizer and potassium salts
- Refractory raw materials
- Sponge iron
- Cement clinker and white cement

KÖPPERN has special know-how for machines and systems processing hot materials at temperatures of up to 900°C.

KÖPPERN Production

KÖPPERN owns operational equipment and CNC machine tools for the fabrication of large and heavy components such as bearing housings, rollers, mold rings and press frames.

An efficient EDP network connects CAD engineering with NC programming and CNC controlled machine tools and equipment.

Electrochemical machining equipment is available to produce molds of optimum size and geometry in the pressing tools of rollers.

Modern inspection and measuring methods constantly ensure the quality of the roller presses and equipment components manufactured.

KÖPPERN Electrochemical machining (ECM)

When special geometries, openings and molded parts are to be produced the ECM method may prove superior to traditional chip-removing processes.

Even high-alloyed materials such as chrome-nickel alloys, titanium alloys or hardened steel parts can be machined electrochemically.

By this highly efficient process burr-free, high-quality surfaces are produced without thermal loads being exerted on the workpieces.
